CASE 001-2-A — "DUALITY"

Some masks are worn to entertain.

Others are worn to conceal.

Case 001-2-A explores the contrast between two opposing personas that occupied the same stage. Inspired by the colorful "Pogo" and patchwork "Patches" clown identities, this piece examines contradiction, performance, and the uncomfortable truth that opposing masks can belong to the same person.

The symbol itself is constructed from elements of both costumes, forming a balanced circle where each side contains traces of the other. The result is neither celebration nor caricature, but a study of identity and the tension between appearance and reality.

Printed and embroidered details bring the artwork to life, while the washed, tie-dyed heavyweight fabric gives each piece its own subtle variations. No two shirts are exactly alike.
